The company started bumping their Express, Plus and Max speed tiers last week, and users should power cycle their modem to see the faster speeds.

The company's pricing has remained unchanged.

Express Tier
was 5 Mbps down now 8 Mbps
1 Mbps up

Plus Tier
was 10 Mbps down now 16 Mbps
2 Mbps up

Max Tier
was 20 Mbps down now 25 Mbps
was 2 Mbps up now 3 Mbps up

The Max tier is being powered by DOCSIS 3.0 upgrades, so you will need to upgrade your modem to one that's DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. The Lite Tier remains unchanged at 1Mbps down and 128 kbps up.

Really when it comes down to it the speed upgrades mean nothing with PowerBoost available on all of the three tiers.

I have Charter internet and they have been very reliable. My network speed today, tested at Speedtest, was 18.12 Mbps for download and .55 Mbps for upload and at Speakeasy 15.20 Mbps and .73 Mbps. Yet I believe we signed up for their lowest speed (Express tier as stated above). Glad to hear of the speed bump. Maybe it is benefiting me. I just hope they don't charge me more for it.
