Directv is starting to roll out a beta version of it's Multiroom DVR.

Requirements of the Beta:
*Firmware Version: 0x0395 or 0x4395
*An HD DVR (models HR20-23)
*At least one compatible HD receiver (models H21-23)
*They have to be already networked
*HD Access and DVR service
*Must "opt-in"

There is one major drawback: once launched from beta to a supported service Directv plans to charge for Multiroom DVR.

Directv just updated my receivers to the news firmware version last night. Probably will test out the beta version of the Whole Home DVR tonight. Assuming I run an ethernet cable to my other receiver by tonight.

your standard non hd box will

your standard non hd box will not work. You need to have an HD or an HD/DvR box. This is going to be great

By standard I meant non-dvr.

By standard I meant non-dvr. Both of my set top boxes are HD. I still have not seen the recent update show up on my non-dvr box.
