Time Warner Cable Tinkers With IPTV
08:38AM Tuesday May 04 2010 by Karl Bode

Time Warner Cable is conducting trials of Microsoft's Mediaroom IPTV platform, which also sits at the heart of several other IPTV efforts -- including AT&T's U-Verse and Surewest's IPTV service. It's not clear when Time Warner Cable will conduct the trial --

or make a move toward an actual deployment -- though more details could be unveiled at The Cable Show next week in Los Angeles. The shift toward IPTV will ultimately allow cable operators to offer more complex interactive services tied to a variety of devices (and of course more complex and interactive advertising).
