Is WFRV switching to HD? Secretly?

I just saw a commercial on Channel 5. It mentioned the following things:

-Channel 5 was the first station to switch to color in Green Bay.
-Channel 5 was the first station to switch to HD syndicated programs in Green Bay.

The final statement went something like this:
"Now, Channel 5 News is first to make a change that will CLEARLY (emphasized) change the way you look at news...."

They wouldn't say exactly what is occurring, and the graphic on the screen included something like a treasure chest.

Anyone else see this commercial?

WFRV could potentially be switching to HD secretly.

Sounds good! ;) The commercial seems to air at least once during their newscasts. Maybe you'll see it tonight at 10.

Well my "sources" are tight-lipped on what's going on, but I just saw the promo on air and I can't imagine it NOT being HD news. Only question is when. With a promo touting "firsts," it's going to have to be late-summer or fall if they want to beat WBAY to the punch (assuming they're still on schedule for "before year's end"). Wasn't seeing this coming at all considering WFRV's new owner's reputation of penny-pinching.

Have to say it's quite exciting having, allegedly, two stations racing to HD news in this market. WLUK will have to follow soon after if they want to keep their edge, and I fully expect Journal to keep NBC26 in the toilet quality-wise for some time.
