It may be time to dust off those freebie Time Warner antennas you got a few years ago. File this in the "unconfirmed" department for now, but it appears that LIN Television and its Green Bay affiliate WLUK may be preparing for another round of contenious negotiations with Time Warner Cable.
After their last battle in 2008, we set up a Google Alerts feed on the term "WLUK," and tonight it showed a rather interesting search entry. Apparently, Google may have crawled a page under construction, which is not directly accessible on FOX11's website.
The crawled page on Google's search result, discovered earlier this afternoon, reads: "On June 1, 2011 at 5:00 pm (EST), Time Warner Cable's contract to carry WLUK-TV [and XXXX-TV] will expire. Please know that we are working hard to reach a new agreement with Time Warner so you will not lose your favorite programming. ..."
It is likely that a carriage negotiation this time around will also involve WCWF (channel 14), as LIN and WLUK absorbed the fledgling channel last year, as well as the [XXXX-TV] phrase in the in-progress page.
It appears, however, that Time Warner Cable has not yet re-registered tellthetruthwluk.com. Remember those white-on-black billboards on Highway 41?
